Today very early morning where the WeirWood, after some decidedly disappointing days recently it was nice to have both Osprey and juv’ female Goshawk at the dam ca11:00hrs. The Osprey was quite distant over the north bank but the Goshawk showed very well. Not a lot else of note, the collection of gulls remained the same, but no Common Sands. A Buzzard was the only other bird noted. At the west end Marsh Tilt was in the c/pk, several Mandarins were around, Kingfisher and Little Egret.

West end:- 1 Little Egret, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Mandarins, 1 Coot.
Whillet’s:- 2 Jay, Bullfinch, Whitethroat, Blackcap, 10 Chiffchaffs.

Dragonfly’s:- 1 Golden ringed dragonfly, 3 Southern Hawkers, 108 Willow Emeralds, 1 Blue tailed Damselfly.
Butterfly’s:- 1 Peacock, 1 Red Admiral, 1 Speckled Wood, 1 Meadow Brown, 1 Holly Blue, 1 Common Blue, 2 Clouded Yellows, 2 Large White, 3 Small Whites, 6 Green-veined Whites, 12 Small Copper, 5 Rush Veneer Moths.
3 Grass Snakes, 3 Common Lizards, 3 Field voles.

WeirWood midday a Wheatear juv’ was on the dam, 2 Common Sands still, 222 Black-headed, 2 Great Black-backed ad’s and a juv’ and ad’ Herring Gull were around. 250+ Barn Swallows plus 50 or so House and 15 Sand Martins. The conditions were very changeable so counting was hard. A Little Egret was on the north shore. In the c/pk Marsh Tit and Goldcrest plus several Chiffchaffs.
