63+ Great Crested Grebe, 12 Mallard, 20+ Greylag Geese, 42+ Canada Geese, 9 Cormorant, Chiffchaff (heard), 3 Mute Swan, 3 Common Tern, 6 Mandarin, 10 Grey Heron 1 Lapwing, 2 Jackdaw, Little Egret, 2 Wood Pigeon, 1 Blackbird.

West End: 2 Green Sandpipers, 1 Little Egret, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Lapwing, 48 Great Crested Grebe, 12 Mandarin, 1 Buzzard, 2 Stock Dove, 2 pairs of Common Terns at the rafts.

Dam End:  9 Common Terns, 1 Little Tern, 1 Grey Wagtail, Common Sandpiper, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 8 Pied Wagtail,1 Mistle Thrush,3 Goldfinch,3 Bullfinch,3 House Martins,1 Common Whitethroat, Blue-Tailed Damselfly and Common Damselfly.

Whillet’s Meadows: 31 Meadow Browns; 1 Small Tortoiseshell, 1 Cinnabar moth.

Damselflies – 2 Large Red males; dozens of Azures with many mating and egg laying.

Dragonflies –   2 x Four-spotted Chasers males; 1 Emperor ovipositing.

Whillet’s Meadow: 2 Barn Owls flying together (seen during working party session).

Dam End: a male Shoveller, pair of Gadwall, Little Egret and four Common Terns. On north bank Common Sandpiper and overhead Common Buzzard.

Whillets Meadows: 5 grass snakes;1 slow worm,2 Blue-Tail Damselfly;1Emperor Dragonfly; 2 Buzzards;1 Reed Bunting;1Blackcap;1Cinnabar Moth;1 Barn Owl;1 Reed Warbler,1 Whitethroat. All photos taken in Whillets during survey transect.
