Several Blackcap, Whitethroat, Little Grebe, pair of Black-headed Gull, Water Rail at Whillett’s seen from the road, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Common Sandpiper, 3 Arctic Terns, 2 Herring Gull, few Mandarin, pair of Grey Wagtail, 2 Nuthatch, 2 Kingfisher, Marsh Tit, House Martin, Sand Martin, few Swallows, Ring Ouzel, Great Black-backed Gull, 5 Buzzard, 2 Lesser Whitethroat.
A few Swallows, 2 House and a Sand Martin, 2 Common Sandpiper in flight. Herring and 2 Great Black-backed Gull. Mandarins and 2 Tufted Ducks, Kingfisher. Around the car park several Blackca. Whitethroat was below the dam.
The Ruff, female presumably, was with at least 6 Common Sandpiper. With the Pied Wagtails was a smart ‘White’ and a pair of Grey Wagtail. Over the water a House Martin and 2 Swifts were in a loose flock of about 20 Swallow. 2nd Swift sighting this year, nice and early. At the West End 2 Kingfisher, the Grey Herons and Cormorants were very busy in their nesting area, a few Mandarin. Several Blackcaps were in song and a Marsh Tit put in a brief showing, Little Egret, Red Kite over, male Goshawk flew in front of the hide.
