West End:- 4 Green Sandpipers, 1 Little Egret, 1 Kestrel, 7 Teal, 1 Tufted Duck, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Coot, 7 Mandarin, 1 Kingfisher, 13 Lapwing, 1 Jay, 4 Moorhen, 6 House Martin, 20 Sand Martin, 26 Swallows, 52 Mallard.

15 Black-headed Gull; Chiffchaff; 25 Cormorant; 3 Grey Heron; 2+ House Martin; Little Egret; 4 Mallard; 4+ Sand Martin; 4 Woodpigeon; 50+ Canada Goose; 2 Common Sandpiper; 25+ Great Crested Grebe; 40+ Greylag Goose; Lapwing; Magpie; Mandarin Duck; 5+ Swallow.
In the morning before the rain came we rung a number of Blackcap along with a small number of Chiffchaff. Interesting sightings included:- Sand Martin, Swallow, Buzzard, Raven, 3 Green Sandpiper and 2 Little Egret.

WeBS for The Reserve
All reservoir: 70 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Little Egret, 20 Grey Heron, 49 Mallard, 22 Cormorant, 8 Sand Martin, 20 Swallow, 30 House Martin, 2 Chiffchaff.
Dam End:- 1 Little Grebe, 2 Mandarin, 1 Mallard hybrid duck, 1 Common Sandpiper, 158 Black-headed Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 3 Herring Gull, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Grey Wagtail, 5 Pied Wagtail.
West End:- 62 Greylag, 190 Canada Geese, 4 Teal, 3 Moorhen, 21 Lapwing, 4 Green Sandpiper, 4 Stock Dove, 1 Raven flyover reported.
Whillet’s:- 3 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Blackcap, 1 Bullfinch, 1f Reed Bunting. Also 1 Small Copper 1 Meadow Brown & 1 female Speckled Wood (see pic) butterflies.

Osprey news – Brendan Lanigan saw an Osprey yesterday 9/9/17 at around 7:30AM at the Dam End.
Also one was seen by fishermen on Monday 4/9/17 near Admirals Wood at around 7AM.

At 9am around 20 Sand Martins, 10 Swallows and 2 House Martins, Common Sandpiper, 3 Green Sandpipers, 4 Teal, Chiffchaff singing and juvenile Great Crested Grebe being fed.

Before the rain came and visibility went:- Black-headed Gull; 4 Cormorant; 4 Grey Heron; Little Egret; Moorhen; Tufted Duck; 47 Canada Goose; 11Great Crested Grebe including 2 juveniles; 6 Greylag Goose; 2 Mallard; 20+ Swallow.

Dam End:- 4 Green Sandpipers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Teal, 2 Mandarin, 1 Gadwall, 1 Tufted Duck, 30 Swallows, 200 House Martins, 1 Lapwing, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Buzzards, 7 Chiffchaffs.
Whillet’s:- 1 Reed Warbler.

Ringing this morning was good with a number of Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcaps. Not sure how much longer Willow Warblers will be around. Other observations included: 2 Buzzards, 2 Kingfishers, Little Egret and Sand Martins. I did note – no Terns.

West End:- At 11.00 about 50 House Martins over with a few Swallows, a Kingfisher, 3 Buzzards, 2 Green Sandpipers, a few Lapwings, 2 Little Egrets, Stock Dove bathing (there are still 7 boxes with active Stock Dove nests; 3 with eggs and 4 with young) as well as usual resident waterbirds.
