West End:- 12.33-1349 – 12 Greylag Geese. 5 Mandarin. 2 Mallard. 7 Great Crested Grebe. 1 Coot. 17 Cormorant. 2 Grey Heron. 2 Buzzards. 1 Osprey juvenile flew in from east along reservoir 13.17 settled in dead tree at far west end at 13.18 and stayed until 13.41 circled over reservoir then flew south. 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull adult. 12 Black-headed Gull. 1 Kingfisher. 2 Carrion Crow. 2 Woodpigeon. 1 Swallow.

3rd September 2024 sightings
West End:- Green Sandpiper, 3 Tufted Duck, Marsh Tit, Kingfisher, Great Crested Grebes, Little Grebe and a few Mandarins tucked under the bushes.
Dam End:- 3 Common Sandpipers, 17 Lapwing flew over, 2 adult Common Gulls joined the 200 or so Black-headed Gulls. A few Willow Warblers were about still, a late Swift and 16 Swallows. Below the dam a Lesser Whitethroat.
In the car park 2 Goldcrests and a lovely Firecrest in the trees at the entrance. -

Dam End:- 11+2 juvenile Great Crested Grebe, 15 Cormorant, 6 Grey Heron, 4 Mute Swan, 2 white feral geese, several Greylag and Canada Geese, 25 Mallard. Lagoon: 2 Coot and 1 Moorhen. Dam Wall: 2 Common Sandpiper. 142 Black-headed Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed, 1 Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Herring Gull, 4 Grey Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 4 Sand Martin, 8 House Martin, 2 Chiffchaff, 3 Crow, 3 Goldfinch.
Butterflies: Holly Blue and Speckled Wood.
West End:- 18+2 juvenile Great Crested Grebe, 15 Cormorants and 6 Grey Heron, 3 Mute Swan, 8 Canada Geese, 2 Mandarin, 6 Mallard, 2 Coot, 1 Buzzard.
Whillet’s:- 1 Green and 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 f Reed Bunting.
Butterflies: 1 Red Admiral, 5 Meadow Brown, 1 Speckled Wood, 1 Large and 1 Small White, 3 Green-veined White, 1 Common Blue.
Dragonflies: 2 Southern Hawker, 1 Brown Hawker and 9 Common Darter
Damselflies: 5 Azure Damselflies. -

Dam End:- 7pm Ringed Plover, 5 Common Sandpipers, 400 Black-headed Gulls,1 Great Black-backed Gull, 3 Mute Swans, 5 Swallows, 1 Mistle Thrush, 27 Great Crested Grebes.
2 Black Terns reported mid afternoon on Birdguides. -
20th August 2024 sightings
Dam End:- Osprey at 6:50 a juvenile spent 5 minutes mid-reservoir before moving to Ashdown. A few Willow Warblers, in the car park a Marsh Tit and 3 Goldcrests. 2 Common Sandpipers on the dam, 2 Great Crested Grebe chicks, young Robin singing his autumn song.
West End:- more Willow Warblers, 2 Great Crested Grebe chicks and Mandarins. -
