    WeirWood. On a brief drop by it was nice to see 3 Sand Martins at the west end by the canoeist beach. Also about was the male Goshawk again, a Blackcap was in song as was Goldcrest, Marsh Tit, Wood Lark, and a sew Chiffchaffs that o didn’t count and the dull tones of a Bullfinch. Ducks inc’ Mandarin, 3 males and a male Teal. Great-crested Grebes were weed dancing and Stock Doves were mating. A pleasant time albeit quite short lived.

    Blackcap singing in sailing club car park,16 GCC on water.
    Just single Black headed gull and several Herrings,Grey Wag 2 Mistle Thrush,2 Bullfinch,2 Goldcrests.
    West end-singing Woodlark,another blackcap xx & several Chiffchaffs.
    3 Mandarins,4 more GCG,4 Greylags on the water.
    5 Buzzards and male Sparrowhawks plus a Raven noted.

    Whillets-Water Rail at Reed bed plus Moorhen,3 Mandarins on stream making a lot of noise because of a Mink swimming around.
    2 Bullfinch,4 Chiffchaffs and heard Green Woodpecker several times,nice watching a pair M/F Kestrels displaying on the overhead wires.
    Butterfly’s-5 Comma,4 Peacocks.

    West End:- 11 x Canada Goose, 1 x Greylag Goose, 5 x Egyptian Goose, 6 x Mandarin Duck, 7 x Mallard, 1 x Pheasant, 1 x Stock Dove, c20 x Woodpigeon, 1 x Moorhen, 5 x Great Crested Grebe, 2 x Black-headed Gull, 15 x Cormorant, 27 x Grey Heron, 2 x Buzzard, 1 x Kingfisher, 1 x Great Spotted Woodpecker, 3 x Magpie, 5 x Jackdaw, 2 x Carrion Crow, 2 x Marsh Tit, 11 x Blue Tit, 5 x Great Tit, 1 x Long-tailed Tit, 2 x Chiffchaff, 1 x Wren, 1 x Song Thrush, 3 x Redwing, 2 x Blackbird, 2 x Robin, 3 x Dunnock, 2 x Pied Wagtail (yarrellii), 2 x Chaffinch, 7 x Goldfinch

    Mid afternoon at the dam,saw the ill looking Black Headed Gull,only other gulls were 2 Herring Gulls.
    10 Great crested Grebes,2 Pied Wags,1 Jay,Mistle Thrush,Chiffchaff,18 Rooks,2 Ravens,6-8 Buzzards and female Goshawk seen several times.

    WeirWood early afternoon at the dam. 2 Goshawks were seen along the south bank a male and female. On the water 3 gulls 2 summer Black-headed and and ad’ Kittiwake. Looked a bit sick sadly. On the dam a pair of Grey Wagtails and a summer Dunlin that was flushed by a workman and flew south. 6 Great-crested Grebes were all displaying and a single Teal was seen lastly, I left at 14:00hrs.

    WeirWood from dawn at the dam to start on this beautiful sunny day. Here in the c/pk 2 Fieldfares and a singing Chiffchaff. A Marsh Tit was noted here and 4 Siskins. On the dam male Grey Wagtail and 4 Pied. The water was like a millpond, where 6 Great-crested Grebes were seen, 5 Herring Gulls and just a few Black-headed Gulls. Overhead 2 Ravens and 2 Red Kites, 3 Buzzards, whilst along the south bank a female Goshawk was seen quite early at 7:15hrs enjoying the early sunshine. A Blackcap was singing behind the fishing lodge whilst along the north bank near the dam Marsh Tit, Treecreeper, 6 Lesser Redpolls and 3 Jays.

    Dam end mid afternoon, Goshawk (f) 6 Buzzards,1 Great black backed Gull,10 GCG,2 Pied Wags,1 Grey Wag,2 Rooks,3 Chiffchaffs,1 Redwing,1 Bullfinch.

    Highlights from yesterday’s Tuesday Work Party. West end: flying and singing Woodlark, plus most of the usual birds reported. A mole was seen in car park area, Terrapin at Heronry area. Whillet’s: Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, 3 Buzzards, Jack Snipe flushed from back meadow, 2 Kingfisher, Fieldfare and Bullfinch.
