WeirWood on a bright dawn at the dam, here lots of Chiffchaffs and 2 Blackcaps noted in and around the c/pk area and 2 Coal Tits. On the water 4 Great-crested Grebes and an ad’ Herring Gull whilst on the dam a pair of Grey Wagtails. Overhead a Raven flew east and an early morning Red Kite flew along the north bank. At the west end later a Great and 2 Little Egrets, a Kingfisher flew across and entered on of the nest holes opposite the c/pk, 3 Gadwall were present and the male Goshawk was over Admirals wood briefly seen to be chasing something. The feeders were busy as usual inc’ 2 Marsh Tits. From the lay-by the Wood Lark was heard singing but remained unseen. At Whillett’s 2 Reed Buntings and 2 Greenfinches were noted. Along the north bank another Marsh Tit, Mistle Thrush, male Green Woodpecker, a pair of Nuthatches, Treecreeper and a Tawny Owl unfortunately flushed from some bushes. Overhead 2 Buzzards and a male Kestrel. I left at 9:50, a more productive visit than in recent days.

Warmer this afternoon at the dam, but little moving apart from a Marsh Harrier which was high and slowly circling SSW. It was joined by a Red Kite high over mid reservoir.
Goshawk ( male) was displaying over south bank, and just caught a Peregrine as it was disappearing over the trees after it had flown across the reservoir going south, small so probably a male.
Other bits,2 Great black backed Gulls on the water,a Lesser black back flew north and at least 14 GCG. -
