    At 9am around 20 Sand Martins, 10 Swallows and 2 House Martins, Common Sandpiper, 3 Green Sandpipers, 4 Teal, Chiffchaff singing and juvenile Great Crested Grebe being fed.

    Before the rain came and visibility went:- Black-headed Gull; 4 Cormorant; 4 Grey Heron; Little Egret; Moorhen; Tufted Duck; 47 Canada Goose; 11Great Crested Grebe including 2 juveniles; 6 Greylag Goose; 2 Mallard; 20+ Swallow.

    Dam End:- 4 Green Sandpipers, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Teal, 2 Mandarin, 1 Gadwall, 1 Tufted Duck, 30 Swallows, 200 House Martins, 1 Lapwing, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Buzzards, 7 Chiffchaffs.
    Whillet’s:- 1 Reed Warbler.

    Ringing this morning was good with a number of Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcaps. Not sure how much longer Willow Warblers will be around. Other observations included: 2 Buzzards, 2 Kingfishers, Little Egret and Sand Martins. I did note – no Terns.

    West End:- At 11.00 about 50 House Martins over with a few Swallows, a Kingfisher, 3 Buzzards, 2 Green Sandpipers, a few Lapwings, 2 Little Egrets, Stock Dove bathing (there are still 7 boxes with active Stock Dove nests; 3 with eggs and 4 with young) as well as usual resident waterbirds.

    West End:- 4 Green Sandpipers, 2 Little Egrets, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1 Tufted Duck, 3 Teal, 2 Kingfisher, 47 Mallard,4 Chiffchaff, 1 Goldcrest, 4 Buzzards, 1 Kestrel, 40 Swallows, 7 House Martins, 1 Sand Martin.

    West End:-  2 juvenile Great Crested Grebe, 3 Little Egret, 4 Green Sandpipers, 122 Canada Geese, 6 Teal, 1 Shoveler, 1 Tufted Duck, 1 Common Tern, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Stock Dove, 5 Swallow, 6 House Martin.
    Whillets:- Butterflies: 1 Small Heath, 1 Common Blue, 1 Green-veined White, 1 Meadow Brown, 1 Speckled Wood. Dragonflies: 1 Migrant Hawker, 1 Southern Hawker, 1 Ruddy Darter, 1 Azure Damselfly.

    Ringing early morning to mid afternoon was very productive and included numerous Chiffchaff and Willow Warblers. It is interesting to see the difference in wing length between the two. Also caught: Blackcaps; Garden Warblers; Goldcrest; Treecreepers; a party of Longtailed Tits and a Marsh Tit.
    Also saw a Peregrine Falcon.

    Dam End:- 1 Wheatear, 15 Lapwing, 2 Common Sandpipers, 280 Black-headed Gulls, 1 Herring Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Common Tern, 2 Mandarin, 1 Little Egret, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Little Grebe+1 juvenile, 1 Bullfinch, 12 Chiffchaff, 1f+1 juvenile Blackcap, 1 Willow Warbler, 7 House Martin.
    Whillet’s:- 2 Sedge Warblers, 6 Willow Warblers, 12 Chiffchaffs, 6 Blackcaps, 3 Common Whitethroats, 1 Goldcrest, 3 Swallows, 1 Marsh Tit, 6 Bullfinch +3 juveniles, Raven heard, 3 Buzzards, 1 Kestrel and 1 Painted Lady Butterfly.
