On Friday afternoon a Marsh Tit was singing in the carpark. As it moved around it was briefly very close in the branches above the bench! I was confident with my ID and Stephen helped nail the song 100% by seeing the bird’s moving bill!

WeirWood from 11:15hrs at the west end, a Tufted Duck male and 3 Teal was about it for ducks apart from Mallards. 2 Little Grebes were present as were 2 Ravens today. A good number of 25 Stock Doves were scattered about inc’ under the feeders where 2 were present with a Marsh Tit and a few Chaffinches. On the feeders 4 Long-tailed Tits, Nuthatch, male and female Great spotted Woodpeckers, Coal Tit and a couple of Siskins. Lots of song today inc’ Mistle Thrush, Dunnock, Wren and most of the tits. No gulls again or geese. For the second day in a row a nice surprise. This time 3 Crossbills flew over SW calling only as they do. The heronry was still busy and a Little Egret joined them. Others noted inc’ 3 Jays, female Sparrowhawk and 2 Buzzards.
