Dam End:- 3 Common Sandpipers flew south from the dam, 25+ Mandarins, still the group of Common Terns some it looks like are on eggs. The highlight was the 9 Hobbies feeding on mayflies and a mixed hirundine flock of ca50 birds.

Dam End (BJ):- 2 Mute Swan, 2+8y Egyptian Geese, 18+5y Mandarin, 10+5y Mallard, 5 Hobby, 1 Common Sandpiper, 4 Black-headed Gull, 2 Swift, 1 Kingfisher, 3 Swallow, 5 House Martin, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Pied Wagtail, 5 white feral farmyard geese.
West End (BJ & AG):- 27 Mallard, 1 Buzzard, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Lapwing, 12 Common Tern, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 5 Swallow, 1 Goldcrest, 3 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Jay, 1m Bullfinch.
Whillet’s (BJ & AG):- 1 Kestrel, 1 Moorhen, 1 Stock Dove, 1 Grey Wagtail, Reed Warbler heard, 3 Whitethroat, 2 Garden Warbler, 1 Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Reed Bunting. Also 1 Grass Snake.
Butterflies: 3 Orange Tip, 1 Red Admiral, 3 Speckled Wood, 1 Peacock, 2 Green-veined White.
Day flying moths: 2 Mother Shipton, 7 Burnet Companion (See pic), 1 Common Carpet, 1 Silver-ground Carpet, 1 Drinker caterpillar (See pic).
Damselflies: 5+ Beautiful demoiselle, 3+ Common Blue, 10+ Azure, 3 pair + 14 – Red-eyed, 2 Blue-tailed, 2 White-legged, 3 pair of Large Red.
Dragonflies: 2M+1F Broad-bodied Chaser. (See pics)
Insects – several “Red & Black Froghoppers” – Cercopis vulnerata (See pic of mating pair). -

West End:- Osprey flew in from the NW at 09:05 carrying a small fish and putting all the Terns up.
2 Lapwings, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Moorhen, 8 Great Crested Grebes, 34 Mallard, 3 Egyptian Geese, 2 Mute Swan, 1 Kestrel, 4 Swifts, 2 Swallows, 65 Cormorant. -

West End:- 2 White Storks circling mid-afternoon, 1 Honey Buzzard flew west, 2 Red Kites, 1 Kestrel, 3 Ravens, 4 Buzzards, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Lapwing, 1 Little Egret, 34 Mallard, 13 Common Terns, 16 Swifts, 6 House Martins, 2 Swallows, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Mandarin, 1 Kingfisher, 5 Pied Wagtails, 1 Egyptian Goose, 2 Mute Swans.
Dam End:- 9 Hobby hunting mayflies over reservoir, 2 Black-headed Gull, 5 Mandarin, 4 Buzzard, 8 Common Terns, 6 Swifts. -

West End:- 1 Redshank, 2 Moorhen, 3 Reed Warblers, 2 Tufted Duck, 14 Common Tern, 1 Jay, 1 Goldcrest.
Dam End:- 39 Mandarin, 4 Black-headed Gull, 2 Moorhen, 5 Hobby, 2 Bullfinch, 7 Swifts, 10 House Martin, 1 Swallow, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Mute Swans, 1 Kestrel, 1 Mistle Thrush.
Little Egret roosted in the heronry.
All reservoir:- 72 Mallard. -
