WeirWood (West End) at first light and little had changed. The mixed flock of mostly Pochard inc’ Teal, Wigeon, Tufted Duck, a Gadwall and the 3 Goosanders. The Great and a Little Egret were noted plus Little Grebe and a Water Rail near the feeders on the waters edge. A vocal Buzzard flew over the c/pk whilst a Kingfisher put in a brief appearance. The heronry and Cormorants were busy this morning with lots of alarm calls as the Great Egret flew over. 2 Marsh Tits were present on the feeders and 2 Lapwings flew over south. At the dam a couple of Mistle Thrushes, a showy Buzzard and 3 Jays on the grassy slope also 14 Common Gulls with the Black-headed. Again a Goshawk was noted, over the Rookery this time a nice male causing absolute havoc.
