Dam End:- WeirWood was decidedly damp this morning but the birding was okay with Black, Arctic and 2 Common Terns from the dam, the Arctic was particularly lovely in flight. On the dam a pair of Little-ringed Plovers and a Common Sand. Plenty of hirundines in now, with the Barn Swallows were smaller numbers of House Martins. In the c/pk a Garden Warbler has joined the Blackcaps singing away and below the dam in the bushes the by now usual Whitethroat.

West End:- 2 more Common Terns on one of the platforms, 2 Kingfishers

Whilletts:- it was good to see Water Rail was still present. Here a Reed Warbler was still in song and 2 Reed Buntings were noted. The rain then cleared by about 8:00 bringing on more song and another Reed Warbler briefly in front of the hide.
