Wheatear on the Dam Wall this afternoon.

The first of our Common Terns have arrived. 3 came in this morning and immediately started fishing half way down the reservoir. As the fish are still deep generally hopefully they will soon find some opposite the hide.

West End, car park (10.44- 11.42) 14 Grey Heron, 17 Great Crested Grebe, 19 Cormorant, 4 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag Geese overflying, 15 Mallard, 2m Mandarin, 1 Coot, 3 Swallows, 1 Nuthatch, 3 Great Tit, 1 Blue Tit,  2 Wren, 1 Pied Wagtail, 3 Goldfinch, 2 Chaffinch, 3 Buzzard, 2 Blackbird, 1f  Blackcap, 1 Terrapin.

Dam End:- 2 Raven, 1 Skylark, 1 Blackcap, 1 Swallow.
West End:- 9 Cormorants on nests, 6 Swallows, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Mandarin.

Whillet’s:- 2 Common Whitethroat, 2 Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff, 1m Kestrel, 2 Buzzard, 1 Kingfisher, 1m Mandarin, 2 Canada Geese, 2 Lesser Redpolls.
West End:- 8 Swallows, 2m Shoveller, 1m+1f Tufted Duck, 2 Coot, 22 Great Crested Grebes, 2m Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Pied Wagtails, 8 Cormorants on nests with 9th being built, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 5 Herring Gulls, 1f Brambling around feeders, 14 Mallard, 4m Mandarin.
Northbank:- 8 Blackcap, 2 Reed Buntings.

West End:- 8 Cormorants on nests, 2 House Martins, 1 Swallow, 4m Mandarin, 1f Brambling, 1m Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff.
Whillet’s:- 2m Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Bullfinch, 1 Kestrel, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Mallard, 1m Mandarin, 2 Canada Geese – 5 Toads, 3 Common Shrews, 3 each of Comma and Peacock butterflies.

North Bank:- 1 Lesser Whitethroat reported this morning around the Picnic area.

West End:- 34 Swallows, 2 Sand Martins, 1 House Martin, 1f Brambling, 2m+1f Blackcap, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Coot, 2 Coal Tits, 2 Chaffinch.

Dam End:- 4 Swallows, 2 House Sparrows, 3 Siskin, 3 Goldfinch, 1 Skylark, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Song Thrush, 2 Pied Wagtails, 1 Raven heard, 1 Green Woodpecker heard.
North Bank:- 2m Blackcap, 16 Chiffchaffs, 10 Bullfinch, 1 Mandarin, 4 Goldcrest, 2 Treecreepers, 2 Jays.
West End:- 17 Swallows, 5 House Martins, 1 Little Egret, 3m Mandarins.
