West End:- 1 juvenile or female Scaup seen distantly close to North bank. It showed a notable white cheek mark and its darker back end and shape help identify it from the 2f Tufted Duck, one of which has a Scaup-like face, that it was associating with. Also 2f Shoveler, pair of Wigeon, 5m+2f Gadwall, 19 Mallard, 40 Teal, pair of Mandarin, 8 Moorhen, 9 Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper, 3 Lapwing, 29 Great Crested Grebe, 140 Greylag + 1 hybrid Canada Goose, 2 Buzzard, 1 Kingfisher. Also 6 Red-legged Partridge seen in stubble field opposite lay-by.
Whillet’s:- 2 Bullfinch, 1 Stock Dove, 3 Long-tailed Tit.
Today with the onset of colder weather, the bird feeders were put out at the Nature Reserve viewing area. It will take a few days for the roving tit flocks and other birds to start using them. -

West End (between 1100 and 1230):- Gadwall, 2m Tufted Duck, 9 Snipe, 2 Green Sandpipers, 2 Kingfishers, 3 Buzzards. Numerous Greylag Geese, Teal, Lapwing and Pheasants with the usual Cormorants, Grey Herons, Great Crested Grebes, Mallard, Moorhen and Black-headed Gulls.

West End:- 1 Peregrine, 1 Sparrowhawk, 18 Snipe, 2 Kingfishers, 2 Gadwall, 1 Green Sandpiper, 11 Mandarins, 1 Coot, 42 Teal, 31 Lapwing, 1 Red-legged Partridge.
Dam End:- 43 Meadow Pipits, 2 Jays, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 1 Kestrel, 3 Mistle Thrush. -

West End:- (AG &BJ) 1 Great White Egret, 11 Mandarin, 1f Wigeon, pair of Gadwall, 43 Teal, 2 Buzzard (one was very white and marked like an Osprey but the giveaway was a brown head), 36 Lapwing, 13 Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher. (AG) 1 flyover Skylark & 2 Pied Wagtail.
Whillet’s:- (BJ) 1 Song Thrush, 2 flyover Mistle Thrush, 4+ Bullfinch, c.20 Redwing.
