    This morning a number of Blue Tits and Great Tits were rung. Other birds of note – Long-tailed Tit and Goldcrest. Other sightings: 2 Buzzard, Kingfisher, Marsh Tit and Bullfinch.

    Dam End:- Started well with 4 Ravens seen in the Sailing Club Car Park when I arrived; but not a lot on the water. (Counts)  4 Raven, 29 Cormorant, 156 Greylag, 1 Greylag/Canada hybrid, 1 Mallard hybrid, 19 Canada Geese, 4 Herring Gull,  100+ Wood Pigeon, 1 Bullfinch.
    Total reservoir counts:  82 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Grey Heron, 61 Mallard, 9 Moorhen, 2 Kingfisher, 4 Pied Wagtail.
    West End:-  2 Little Grebe, 10 Mandarin, 6 Gadwall, 1 Tufted Duck, 3 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 Coot, 29 Lapwing, 3 Green Sandpiper, 10 Snipe, 168 Black-headed Gull, 3 Common Gull, 7 Stock Dove, 3 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 3 Meadow Pipit, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Blackbird, 1 Marsh Tit, 2 Coal Tit, 15+ Blue Tit, 5+ Great Tit, 1 Nuthatch, 1 Chaffinch, 3 Goldfinch. (On fields by the road:– 100+ Jackdaw, 10+ Rook, 10+ Crow).

    West End:- 12 Snipe, 3 Green Sandpiper, 2 Kingfisher, 2 Little Grebes, 15 Teal, 3 Tufted Duck, 6 Gadwall, 8 Mandarin, 2 Grey Wagtail, 1 Pied Wagtail, 1 Common Gull, 207 Black-headed Gull, 3 Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch, 1 Fieldfare, 1 Marsh Tit, 96 Starlings flew south, 180 Woodpigeon flew south and 200+ flock of Jackdaws flew north.

    Walked along North bank this morning to see if I could find any Hawfinches at the Hornbeam wood near the picnic area; but an hour looking over the wood produced none.
     
    There was a pheasant shoot on nearby fields at West End this morning. The noise frightened off most of the ducks & geese.
     
    Dam wall + North Bank:- 30+ Fieldfare, 30+ Redwing, 100+ Wood Pigeon, Tawny Owl heard, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 5+ Blackbird, 2+ Song Thrush, 2 Mistle Thrush, 7 Mandarin, 4 flyover Herring Gull, 1 Meadow Pipit, 10+ Goldfinch, 2 Lesser Redpoll.
     
    West End:- 7 Snipe, 47 Lapwing, 2 Green Sandpiper, 6 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 1 Coot, 6 Moorhen, 3 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 2 Common Gull, 31 Black-headed Gull, 7 Stock Dove, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Treecreeper, 1 Nuthatch, 2 Marsh Tit, 2 Coal Tit, 4 Long-tailed Tit, 10+ Blue Tit, 5+ Great Tit.

    West End late afternoon 14/11:-  The highlight was unusually 2 Daubenton’s bats seen flying over the water feeding, light levels still being good enough to get views.
    2 Little Grebe,  154 Greylag + 1 Greylag/Canada hybrid, 12 Mandarin, 2+ Gadwall, 16 Teal, pair of Pochard, 9 Tufted Duck, 35 Lapwing, 4 Snipe, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 6 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Marsh Tit.
    Dam End:- The work party saw a flock of 50+ Fieldfare fly over, and a Pied Wagtail.

    Whillet’s:- 113 Reed Buntings and 4 Starlings came in to roost between 14:30-16:15.
