    West End:- 7 Gadwall, Water Rail, 34 Herons in heronry.

    Ringing in the study area we caught a Marsh Tit which was originally ringed last year as a juvenile. It is difficult to say if it was male or female from the wing measurement; but it was a good weight just under 11g. Other birds caught include: a male Nuthatch, Blue Tits, Great Tits and Long-tailed Tit. Other sightings: 12 Tufted Duck, 4 Mandarin ( 1 male and 3 females) a large flock of Redwing and Fieldfares was around for a short time in the morning.

    WeBS Results
    All reservoir:-  28 Great Crested Grebe, 44 Cormorant, 13 Mallard.
    Dam End:- 1 immature Mute Swan, 4 Common Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 83 Black-headed Gull, 3 Herring Gull, c120 Wood Pigeon, 1 Song Thrush, 2 Mistle Thrush.
    West End:-  30 Grey Herons @ heronry,  2 Greylag, 8 Canada Geese, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1 Mandarin Duck,  1m Tufted Duck, Red Kite flyover, 3 Common Buzzard but probably same birds as seen at Dam End,  2 Moorhen,  6 Common Gull,  5 Stock Dove, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Pied Wagtail,  2 Long-tailed Tit, 2 Marsh Tit, 1 Coal Tit, 1 Nuthatch, 1 Tree Creeper, 2 Raven, 4+ Goldfinch, 1 Bullfinch.
    Whillet’s:- 1 Kestrel, 3 Bullfinch.

    West End:- 3 Pochards, 4 Moorhen.
    Whillet’s:- 1 Stonechat, 2 Kingfisher, 1 Peacock Butterfly.

    West End:- 15 Black-headed Gull, 4 Blue Tit, Carrion Crow, 3 Chaffinch, 2 Coal Tit, 27 Cormorant, Gadwall, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Great Tit, 6 Grey Heron at nests, 2 Long-tailed Tit, 4 Mallard, 3 Marsh Tit, Mute Swan, Pheasant, 2 Robin, Treecreeper, Woodpigeon.

    Whillet’s:- 1 Stonechat, 3 Bullfinch, 2 Song Thrush, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Jays, 4 Redwing, 4 Smooth and 1 Palmate Newts in meadow pond.
    West End:- 24 Grey Heron in Heronry , 42 Cormorants, 2 Canada Geese, 3 Egyptian Geese, 3 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Moorhen, 38 Fieldfare, 1 Marsh Tit, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Bullfinch,13 Mallard.

    West End:- Barn Owl flying in the field behind the hide Car Park at around 5pm.

    West End: 1 imm Mute Swan, 2 pairs of Gadwall, 11 Mallard, 9 Grey Herons at nests at heronry, 69 Cormorants were roosting there as well. 40 Redwing, 1 Buzzard, 2 Canada Geese.
    Whillet’s:-  8 Pheasants were in the second meadow; with the shooting season now over, plenty have survived the local farm shoots.

    West End:- Red Kite drifted West early afternoon.

    Ringing in the study area during the morning saw the usual Tit species. A quick view of the reservoir noted 4 Pochard – 1 male and three female.
