The following recovery for a Kingfisher has been received from the BTO:-
A juvenile Kingfisher ringed on the morning of 12th August 2021 in Whillet’s meadows has been found (dead) on 27th November; some 107 days later in Wexford, Ireland ~ a distance of 482km.
An incredible journey for a Kingfisher.

West End:- 20 Tufted Duck, 4 Gadwall, 3 Little Grebe.
Dam End:- 9 Grey Wagtail, Chiffchaff in car park.

Whillet’s:-  1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Chaffinch and 1 Fox.
West End:-  2 Mute Swan, 2 Egyptian Geese, 4 Greylag, 2 Coot, 1 Moorhen, 14 Mallard, 1 Raven and 1 Stock Dove flew over,  4 Great Crested Grebe, 23 Cormorant, 16 Black-headed Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 5 Redwing, 2 Crow, 30 Jackdaw flyover.
Feeders:-  1 Marsh Tit, 1 Coal Tit, 10 Blue Tit, 2 Great Tit, Nuthatch heard, 1 Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch.

Whillet’s:- 5,325 Starlings and 63 Reed Buntings into roost this evening.
2 Water Rails heard,4 Chaffinch,3 Bullfinch,1 Tufted Duck,15 Redwings and Sparrowhawk flew over.

West End:- 1m Goldeneye seen this morning, 6m+2f Gadwall, 12 Mallard, 2 Mute Swan, 40 Cormorant, 150 Greylag, 1 Little Grebe, 6 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Moorhen, 8 Coot, 2 Snipe, 60 Black-headed Gull,  1 Stock Dove heard, 2 Kingfisher, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Wren, 1 Blackbird, 1 Goldcrest, 2 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Marsh Tit, 2 Coal Tit, 5 Blue Tit, 2 Great Tit, 1 Nuthatch.
North Bank:- 5 Fieldfare flyover, 1 Redwing.
Whillet’s:- 1 Song Thrush, 1 Raven, 300+ Starling flyover.

Mallard 14, Goldeneye 1, Pheasant 3, Great Crested Grebe 1, Stock Dove 1, Woodpigeon 3, Moorhen 1,  Coot 5, Snipe 2, Black-headed Gull 22, Cormorant 1, Grey Heron 1, Great Spotted Woodpecker 1, Magpie 2, Carrion Crow 1, Marsh Tit 1, Blue Tit 3, Great Tit 2, Nuthatch 1, Wren 2, Blackbird 2, Robin 3, Chaffinch 1.

Numerous Woodpigeons. On feeders: 7 Blue Tit. 1 Great Tit. 1 Coal Tit. 1 Marsh Tit. 1 Goldfinch. 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker. 1 Nuthatch.

West End:- 2 Water Rail, Barn and Tawny Owls, Red Kite, 3 Kingfishers, 3 Marsh Tits and a very late Swallow.
Barn Owl at entrance to road which goes towards Pintail Bank.

West End:- 3 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1 Coot, 2 Marsh Tit, 1 Coat Tit, 5 Blue Tit.
Whillet’s:- 1 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 2 Water Rail heard, 1 Moorhen heard, 2 Tawny Owl heard, Green Woodpecker heard, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, Song Thrush heard, 2 Crow.
Reed-bed roost count between 14:30 & 16:30 ~ 81 Reed Buntings, 2540 Starling.
The early starling flocks were coming in several hundred strong. There were no big murmurations and later flocks were much smaller (over 60 separate flocks). Some birds were flying directly in singly – Reed Bunting style which needed more concentration than usual on ID for the Reed Bunting count. A Sparrowhawk showed once right at the end and silenced the Starlings as it flew over. But it did not actively hunt and the birds resumed their incessant chatter.
