Dam End:- 18 Greylag Goose, 20 Canada Goose, 10 Egyptian Goose — 2 adults, 8 young, 3 Mandarin Duck, 31 Mallard, 1 Tufted Duck, 1 Pheasant, 9 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Woodpigeon, 3 Swift, 1 Black-headed Gull, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Common Tern, 4 Cormorant, 4 Grey Heron, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Hobby, 3 Magpie, 13 Rook, 3 Carrion Crow, 3 Barn Swallow, 4 House Martin, 1 Common Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Wren, 1 Grey Wagtail, 6 Pied Wagtail, 2 Common Chaffinch.

Osprey mid-reservoir at 11:10, 5 Hobbies, 12 Common Terns, 2 Little-ringed Plovers from the dam. Also 7 Buzzards about.

Dam End:- A very pale male Honey Buzzard north of the dam at 12:00ish. Distinctive bird, not the pale Common Buzzard.

Wood Lark breeding for the first recorded time. Common Terns, Little-ringed Plovers, Redshank, adult Little Gull, 3 Hobbies, lots of hirundines but fewer Swifts.

Dam End:- 1 Osprey seen at 13:30 for several minutes at mid-reservoir repeatedly harassed by 2 Great Black-backed Gulls and 2 Herring Gulls. It swooped for fish but being harassed didn’t catch any. A Hobby was feeding on mayflies rising early afternoon. A Cuckoo was heard. Mandarin with 4 young, Mallard with young. Egyptian Goose pair had 8 young goslings. Up to 3 juvenile Pied Wagtails along the water edge, a Garden Warbler was singing. Also a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly.

West End:- 2 Woodlarks feeding young in field, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 6 Lapwing, 3 Moorhen, 19 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Mandarin, 2 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Common Terns, 2 Bullfinch, 2 Goldfinch, Dunnock carrying food, 5 Nuthatch including 3+ fledged young, 2 Collard Dove, 7 Swift, 2 House Martin, 1 Song Thrush.
Dam End:- 2 Hobby, 46 Mallard, 6 Black-headed Gulls, 10 Egyptian Geese including 8 goslings, 5 Swifts, 1 Grey Wagtail, 14 Common Tern. -

WeirWood in better conditions than yesterday produced 2 Little-ringed Plovers, 6 Lapwing, still 12 Common Terns, 3 Hobbies early on, about 35 Swifts and 7 White Storks heading over the dam northwards.
