West End:- A Great White Egret early morning flew in and promptly left heading south.

Whillet’s:- 390 House Martins, 30 Swallows, 40 Meadow Pipits and 3 Greenfinch flew south, 1 juv Stonechat in meadow, 1 Raven, 1 Kestrel, 10 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps. -

Dam End:- midday – Still at least 3 Common Sandpipers at the dam.
West End:- Water Rail, Reed Warbler and Little Egret. Overhead lots of Jackdaws joined 2 vocal Ravens and a female Goshawk (huge bird) causing havoc. -

We cleared the willows which had been obscuring views from the layby opposite Martins Island – photo taken from the layby.

Whillet’s:- 5 Common Snipe flew high west at 09:50, 1 male Kestrel, 1 Siskin, 1 Greenfinch, 2 Marsh Tit, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 10 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcap, 2 Bullfinch.
