WeBS and Other Sightings
All Reservoir:- 4 Great Crested Grebe, 32 Cormorant, 3 Grey Heron, 16 Canada Geese, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Coal Tit, 2 Nuthatch, 2 Jay, 4 Chaffinch.
Dam End:- 1 Great Northern Diver, 2 Mute Swan, 2 Egyptian Geese, pair of Kestrel, 1 Moorhen, 25 Meadow Pipit, 1 Grey Wagtail, 7 Pied Wagtail, 13 Fieldfare flyover, 1 Song Thrush, 25 Redwing flyover, 1 Marsh Tit, 11 Rook, 2 Crow, 9 Goldfinch, 1 Siskin flyover, 4 white domestic geese.
West End:- 3 Little Grebe, 187 Greylag Geese, 7 Mandarin, 6 Wigeon, pair of Gadwall, 1f Pintail, 1f Red-crested Pochard, 1 immature Goshawk being mobbed by a Crow, 1m Sparrowhawk, 20 Lapwing circling around, 66 Black-headed Gull, 2 Herring Gull, Green Woodpecker heard, 1 Stonechat, 2 Marsh Tit, 1 white feral duck.
Mainly West End – visual migration flyovers: flocks of 85 and 130 Brent Geese, 105 Golden Plover flock, 80 and 100+ flocks of Wood Pigeon, 300 Starling in various flock sizes.
Whillet’s:- 1 Kingfisher, 1m Yellowhammer flyover, 59 Reed Bunting –came into Reed-bed roost between 14:30 to 16:15.
