7th October 2018 from The Ringers

Ringing in the study area this morning was rather quiet – even with a light breeze from the north east – notably Blackcap and Goldcrest plus Blue Tits, Great Tits, Robin and Wrens.
Othe observations proved more fruitful: approx. 170 Greylag Geese,1  Raven aerial scrapping with a Buzzard, 1 Kingfisher, 9 Teal, 2 Snipe, 9 Lapwing,  27 Stock Dove in one flock, female Sparrowhawk, 9 Goldfinches, 2 Jay, 2 Marsh Tit, 2 Nuthatch, 9 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Chiffchaff and a flyover by a Skylark.  Also plenty of Hornets on the wing.
