WeirWood from dawn at the calm west end. Here a Lapwing, Common Sandpiper and Tufted Duck female were noted. Also a few Mandarin and Teal. A juv’ female Goshawk showed at 7:59hrs opposite the c/pk. Several Stock Doves were seen flying around unsurprisingly at this time in all directions. A Sedge Warbler was in front of the hide with 2 or 3 Blackcaps. Several Barn Swallows were lingering with ca25 birds noted. At Whillett’s 2 Reed Warblers and another Sedge Warbler plus a Greenfinch and male Reed Bunting. At the dam 12 Great-crested Grebes and on top of the dam 21 Pied Wagtails with 45 Black-headed and 2 ad’ Common Gulls. On the aerator a further 24 Black-headed and singles of Lesser and Great Black-backed and Herring Gulls. Now off to the Northern Isles via Gatwick.
