    Osprey seen early by Brendan Lanigan.
    Work Party sightings ~ Dam End:- 11 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Grey Heron, 1+7 juv Egyptian Geese, 16 white feral Farmyard Geese, 2 Common Sandpiper, 113 Black-headed Gull, 5 Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Common Tern, 1 Swift, 3 Swallow, 6 House Martin, 2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail.

    Dam End:- 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 House Martin, 3 Mute Swan, 1 Great Blacked-backed Gull,1 Lesser Black-backed Gull,160 Black-headed Gull, 2 Common Tern, 5 Grey Heron, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Blackcap, 5 Chiffchaffs.
    Whillets:- 1 Siskin flew over, 1 Blackcap, 5 Chiffchaff,3 Whitethroat, 4 Bullfinch, 1 Coal Tit, 3 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Reed Bunting, Mallard on meadow pond.

    Whillet’s:- 1 Hobby, 1 Buzzard,1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Greenfinch, 4 Goldfinch, 2 Reed Buntings, 2 Reed Warblers, 2 Whitethroats, 10 Chiffchaffs.
    2 Brown Hawker, 1 Southern Hawker, 8 Migrant Hawker, 6 Common Darter, 2 Blue-tail Damselfly, 1 White-legged Damselfly.
    8 Grass Snakes.
    1 Small Skipper, 2 Large Skipper, 1 Small Heath, 8 Small Copper, 1 Common Blue, 2 Peacock, 2 Comma, 1 Red Admiral, 1 Silver-washed Fritillary, 30 Gatekeepers, 22 Meadow Brown.

    Ringing – delayed by early morning rain – saw a mixed bag of birds. Three Kingfishers all 1st year birds, 2 males and a female, were a nice surprise. Other species included: Whitethroats, Blackcap, Chiffchaffs, Wrens, Song Thrush, Robin, Dunnocks and Great Tit.

    Dam End:- Weir Wood from dawn and the Osprey flew in at 06:35, circled and disappeared to the west end.
    Also 2 Common Sandpipers and Little Egret.

    Ringing in the morning was quiet. The first Sedge Warbler of the season was a nice surprise.  There were a number of Sedge Warblers in the undergrowth throughout Whillet’s. An adult male Sparrowhawk on top of brambles in Whillet’s had caught what appeared to be a Chiffchaff.

    Dam End:- Osprey caught fish at 3pm then flew towards Ashdown.
    3 Swift,1 Little Egret,1 Green Sandpiper.
    2 Common Sandpipers, and a handful of House Martins.

    Dam End:- 2 Common Sandpiper, 1 Great Black-backed Gull, 4 Common Terns, 3 Swifts, 1 Sand Martin, 2 adult and 8 juvenile Egyptian Geese, 19 white feral Farm Geese.

    Whillet’s:- 2 Greenfinch, 4 Goldfinch, 3 Reed Bunting, 6 Whitethroats, 2 Blackcap, 2 Stock Dove, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Starling, 1 juvenile Red Kite, 1 Sparrowhawk.

    Dam End:- 1 moulting adult Black Tern, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls, 3 Swift, 5 Sand Martin, 2 House Martin, 3 Mute Swans, 1 Hobby, 1 Buzzard.

    West End:- 5 adult + 1 juv Common Tern, 3 Mandarin, 1 Kingfisher, 4 Chiffchaffs, 2 Stock Dove.
