    06-07-23 Osprey early on caught a fish and flew off west.
    07-07-23 West End:- 2 Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank still, Green Sandpiper.
    Dam End:- On the dam both Little Ringed Plover and Common Sandpiper, 5 Lapwing, 6 wader species in all, Family of 4 Jay.

    West End:- About 14 Great Crested Grebe, 1 pair with 3 young
    1 Redshank favouring perching on the rightmost tern raft but displaced periodically by the terns
    1 female Mandarin perched in scrub overhanging the water.
    Canada Geese, Cormorants etc + Greylag with young.

    Dam End:- Osprey at the dam over the north bank briefly. 2 Green and a Common Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover and 2 broods of Great Crested Grebe one with 4 young and the other has at least 2.

    West End:- 1 Common Sandpiper and 2 Lapwing on Pintail, 3 Marsh Tit in Car Park. The 4 pairs of Common Tern on rafts still have 7 chicks. The Black-headed Gull pair have 4 chicks. A Great Crested Grebe pair were seen with 2 young along Pintail near Plaw Hatch stream. 8 Mute Swan still, 2 Mandarin.
    Whillet’s:-  Sparrowhawk over, 10+ House Martin, 5 Goldfinch, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Reed Warbler, 1 Reed Bunting.
    Dragonflies – 1 Black-tailed Skimmer, 1 Common Darter, 1 Emperor.
    Damselflies – 10+ Azure, 3+ Common Blue, 3+ Blue-tailed, 5 Willow Emerald, 1 Large Red, 1 Banded Demoiselle.
    Butterflies – 2 Gatekeeper, 2 Marbled White, 2 Red Admiral.

    West End:- 5 Lapwing, 6 Mandarin Duck, 8 Mute Swan, 4 Coot, 15 Mallard, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 68 Jackdaw, 27 Greylag Geese, 13 Grey Heron, 23 Great Crested Grebe, 14 Common Tern including 6 young, 45 Canada Geese, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackbird, 2 Buzzard, 5 Black-headed Gull including 3 chicks.
    Whillet’s:- 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Kingfisher, 15 House Martin.
    Butterflies – 2 Comma, 2 Gatekeeper, 1 Green-veined White, 16 Large Skipper,2 Marbled White, 101 Meadow Brown, 2 Red Admiral, 19 Ringlets, 29 Small Skipper, 2 Small Tortoiseshell.
    Moths – 2 Silver Y, 2 Cinnabar, 1 Six Spot Burnet.
    Dragonflies & Damselflies – 2 Black-tailed Skimmer, 2 Emperor, 6 Beautiful Demoiselles, 2 Blue-tailed Damselfly, 2 White-legged Damselfly,1 Large Red Damselfly.

    West End:- A pair of Great Crested Grebes at Plawhatch stream corner were feeding small grebelings on one of their backs. The 2 Coots there are active too. Plenty of food being delivered to Black-headed Gull and Common Tern chicks. Kingfisher flew over reed-bed.

    Dam End:- evening – 2 Little Ringed Plover and 3 Common Sandpiper on dam.

    Dam End:- a Caspian Gull with 2 Herring and a Lesser Black-backed. A peculiar long-necked, long straight-billed bird in what looks like 1st winter plumage. Seen flying and settled. Very pale head and upright stance.

    West End:- Osprey appeared at 10:20, Common Tern youngsters had at least 2 Black-headed Gull chicks for company, Green Sandpiper.

    Whillet’s:- 99 Meadow Brown, 17 Ringlet, 24 Small Skipper, 20 Large Skipper, 3 Comma, 1 Large White, 16 Sliver Y moth, 3 Grass Snake, 2 White-legged Damselfly, 1 Large Red Damselfly, 1 Emperor Dragonfly, 1 Black-tailed Skipper, 5 Blue-tailed Damselfly at Meadow pond, 14 House Martin.
