A calm morning produced some good birds. 30+ Crossbills south, adult Little Gull, Ruddy Shelduck joined the Egyptian Geese, a late juvenile Osprey south at 7:55 plus Pintail, a few Siskin and Redpoll. 3 showy Jays were nice on the dam too – brilliant.

West End:- 1 Little Grebe, 36 Cormorant, 1 Mute Swan, 10 Canada Geese, 16 Mallard, 3 Tufted Duck, 1 Buzzard, 1 Moorhen, 4 Coot, 1 Barn Owl flew over water to Whillet’s at dusk, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Grey Wagtail, 6 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Marsh Tit, 1 Nuthatch, 1 Treecreeper, amongst the Crows and Jackdaws there was a Rook.

West End:- 1f Pintail, 3 Wigeon, 7 Teal, 9 Tufted Duck, 18 Egyptian Geese, 5 Coot, 10 Great Crested Grebe, 120 Stock Dove in stubble field opposite hide, 1 Fieldfare, 1 Meadow Pipit, 2 Grey Wagtail, 7 Lesser Redpoll.
Dam End:- 1 Little Egret, 56 Black-headed Gull, 15 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Coot. -

West End:- quieter today; 10 Tufted Duck, male Pochard, 6 Gadwall, Little Grebe, 3 Marsh Tit and 3 Chiffchaff.
Dam End:- small flocks of Siskin, Redpoll and Redwing, Skylark over, but I couldn’t find the diver today. -

Very birdy with a delightful mixed flock of four tit species, a Hawfinch in the west end car park briefly, 9 Tufted Duck, 2 Raven, several Redwing and at least 2 Fieldfare. At the dam the Red-throated Diver was still showing well and 3 Common Scoter.

Dam End:- 1st winter Red-throated Diver flew in around midday. 1 Kingfisher, 6 Meadow Pipit.
Whillet’s:- 1 Barn Owl (2nd meadow), 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Treecreeper, 6 Siskin, 2 Bullfinch, 3 Redwing, 2 Song Thrush, 2 Wren, 4 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Moorhen on river, 3 Mallard on river, 1 Green Woodpecker.
West End:- Probable Pallid Swift flew in from the north at 10:10 (chunky brownish slow-flying bird with pale face/chin short tail closed for most of 5mins it was in view; broad wings with light underwings going darker with tatty wing tips.) 2 Skylark, 1 Common Gull west, 16 Meadow Pipit south, 8 Chaffinch, 6 Lesser Redpoll, 2 Mistle Thrush, 19 Egyptian Geese, 76 Canada Geese, 213 Greylag Geese, 2 f Pintail, 4 Tufted Duck, 1 Mandarin, 3 Gadwall. 2 Red Admiral.
