The Ruff, female presumably, was with at least 6 Common Sandpiper. With the Pied Wagtails was a smart ‘White’ and a pair of Grey Wagtail. Over the water a House Martin and 2 Swifts were in a loose flock of about 20 Swallow. 2nd Swift sighting this year, nice and early. At the West End 2 Kingfisher, the Grey Herons and Cormorants were very busy in their nesting area, a few Mandarin. Several Blackcaps were in song and a Marsh Tit put in a brief showing, Little Egret, Red Kite over, male Goshawk flew in front of the hide.

Dam End:- 1 female Ruff, 6 Common Sandpiper, 3 Pied Wagtail, 5 Black-headed Gull, 1 Blackcap, 5 Buzzard, 3 Carrion Crow, 3 Egyptian Geese, 3 Goldfinch, 2 Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Herring Gull, 1 Kestrel, 1 Little Egert, 7 Mallard+7 ducklings, 2 Mandarin Duck, 2 Mute Swan, 1 Starling, 4 Swallow.

Dam End:- 2 Common Whitethroat, 3 Blackcap, 2 Swallow, 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Mandarin, 4 Black-headed Gull.
Whillet’s :-3 Common Whitethroat, 4 Blackcap, 1 Kestrel, 1 Kingfisher.
5 Large Red Damselfly at Meadow Pond,
Butterflies- 18 Orange Tip, 7 Peacock, 4 Small Tortoiseshell.

stunning male Wheatear on dam, 2 Common Sandpiper, several Barn Swallow, 2 House Martin, Swift, Little Egret on North Bank, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Mandarin, Red Kite, 3 Buzzards flying together.

Avocet on the dam (surprising), 2 Common Sandpiper, Arctic Tern, few Barn Swallow, House Martin, couple of Mandarin Ducks, 2 Great Black-backed Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, 6 Herring Gull, Tufted Duck, Great Crested Grebe, Kestrel, Blackcap.

West End:- 5 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1m Mandarin, 1m Tufted Duck, 1 Stock Dove, 1 Kingfisher, 6 Swallow,  2 Blackcap, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Nuthatch, 1 Marsh Tit, 2 Raven, 1 Chaffinch.

Dam End:- 1 Common Whitethroat singing in brambles behind the dam [Alastair Gray and Jonathan Ross].

West End:- 1 Sandwich Tern.

Dam End:- 1 Hobby

West End:- Sandwich Tern fly over (a fairly rare bird at the reservoir), 30 Swallow, 6 House Martin, 2 Mute Swan, 2 Black-headed Gull which look like they may nest on the rafts again this year.
