    North Bank: Among 70 Black-headed Gulls a Little Gull was on the north bank.

    West End: The following sightings were among the highlights of the Open Day. The only raptor seen was a Red Kite which drifted low west. Waders included 4 Green Sandpipers and 2 Common Sandpipers. 2 Little Egrets dropped in late afternoon. 6 Common Terns were hawking around catching fish. At least 2 Sand Martins many Swallows and low numbers of House Martins and Swifts  were seen during the day. Although common, perhaps the bird of the day was a Collard Dove flying past the hide, 3 Teal and 10+ Lapwings were around. A pair of Kingfishers were along the north bank.

    Whillets: The netting and ringing demonstration was held by the reed bed in the meadow. Some 8 Reed Warblers and a number of other birds were ringed.

    West End: 97 Great Crested Grebes, 16 Greylag Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 3 Common Terns, 2 Lapwings, 5 Green Sandpipers, 1 Stock Dove, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff.

    102 Great Crested Grebe, 14 Mandarin, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher, 7 Mink  (probable a family group) in clearing right of Kingfisher bank.

    Whillets:  1 Kingfisher, 2 Reed Bunting, Blackcap heard.

    West End: 78 Great Crested Grebe, 23 Mandarin, 2 Teal, 4 Mute Swan, 16 Grey Heron, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Lapwing, 3 Common Tern, 1 Chiffchaff.

    15 Lapwing, 102 Black-headed Gull, 76 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 9 Common Tern, 1 Kingfisher, 3 Teal, 30 Mandarin Duck, 2 Goldfinch.

    In addition to all the usual current birds, including the 3 Green Sandpipers, a Redshank was seen flying over the water before landing at Pintail Point and disappearing from view. Also seen by Bob Johnson: 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Kingfisher, 2 House Martin, 1 Swift.

    West End:  6 Common Terns, 3 Green Sandpipers, 5 Lapwing, 1 Buzzard, 1 Mink. Chiffchaff & Reed Warbler heard, 10+ Grey Herons.

    West End: 1 Red Kite, 1 Hobby, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Buzzard, 1 Little Egret, 5 Lapwing, 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Grey Wagtail,2 Stock Dove, 3 Green Sandpiper, 102 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Purple Emperor butterfly flying round oak tree in car park.
