North Bank:- 7 HAWFINCH, 20 Goldfinch, 67 Lesser Redpoll, 5 Chaffinch, 3 Skylarks, 5 Meadow Pipits, 733 Woodpigeons, 26 Redwings, 2 Song Thrush, 2 Pied Wagtail, 10 Starlings, 4 Reed Buntings all flew west between 07:30-09:30, 2 Jays, 1 Chiffchaff, Tawny Owl heard, 1 Mistle Thrush, 2 Kestrels, 2 Buzzards, 3 Goldcrest, 8 Lapwing.
Dam End:- 58 Cormorants, 48 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Little Grebes, 6 Meadow Pipits, 1 Chiffchaff, 2 Rook, 7 Starlings, 12 Redwing, 1 Kestrel.
West End:- 16 Snipe, 4 Green Sandpipers, 2 Tufted Duck, 37 Lapwings, 2 Terrapins.
Whillets:- 26 Lesser Redpoll, 6 Goldfinch, 8 Bullfinch, 21 Redwing, 2 Song Thrush, 14 Meadow Pipits, 2 Stonechats, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Buzzard.
Butterflies seen:- Common Blue, Small Copper, Speckled Wood and Red Admiral.

Ringing this morning was rather quiet, of particular note Goldcrest and Long-tailed Tit. There has been a movement of Goldcrests over the last few weeks. See the close-up picture of the crest of a male Goldcrest. Other birds of note: Raven, Kingfisher, Buzzards and 3 Stonechats (in the meadows).
