Male Ruddy Darter – meadow pond.

Dam End:- 1 Sedge Warbler, 2 Willow Warblers, 4 Chiffchaff, 4 Blackcap, 1 Garden Warbler, 4 Whitethroat, 3 Common Sandpipers, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 Little Egrets, 2 Lapwing, 26 Goldfinch, 4 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker, 4 Swallows, 40 House Martins around water works, 3 Kestrel male, female & juvenile. 2 Bullfinch, 114 Greylag Geese, 1 Kingfisher.
West End:- 2 Green Sandpipers, 1 Great Egret.
Whillets:- 1 adult Water Rail, 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Garden Warbler, 6 Reed Warblers one feeding young, 3 Teal, 3 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 70 Goldfinch, 3 Reed Buntings, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Bullfinch, 1 Blackcap,1 Silver-Washed Fritillary, 13 Common Blue, 1 Emerald Damselfly.

Ringing in the study area was slow but interesting with a number of Garden Warblers, nearly all juveniles. Other warblers of note were Blackcap and Chiffchaff. Birds seen included:– Marsh Tit, 2 x Kingfisher and Buzzard.

Dam End:-  2 Little Egret, 1 Mute Swan, 96 Greylag, 74 Canada Geese, c175 Black-headed Gull, 2 Coot, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Kestrel, 2 Buzzards.
West End:-  1 Great White Egret, 1 Little Egret, 2 Green Sandpipers, 117 Great Crested Grebe, (89 Greylag probably from Dam End), 2 Mandarin, 2 Moorhen, 1 Terrapin,  4 Lapwing, 9 Grey Heron, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Stock Dove, 1 Common Tern, 1 Swallow.
Whillet’s:-  50+ Goldfinch, 2+ Reed Warbler.

1 Green Sandpiper, 5 Lapwing, 7 Mandarin, 107 Great Crested Grebe, c.70 House Martins, 3 Sand Martin, 10 Swallow, 1 Great Egret, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Buzzard,1 Kestrel.

West End:- With the usual Great Crested Grebes, Cormorants, Mallards & Herons were: 1 Great White Egret, 1 Little Egret, 5 Mandarin, 1 Moorhen, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Stock Dove. Also a Southern Hawker Dragonfly in Whillet’s.

West End:- Great White Egret, 2 Little Egret, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, 8 Lapwing, 39 Mallard, 12 Mandarin, 2 Moorhen, 94 Great Crested Grebes, 26 Black-headed Gulls, 1 Kingfisher, 10 House Martin, 6 Swallows, 1 Buzzard.

Great Egret, 2 Teal, 2 Kingfisher, 79 Great Crested Grebe, 11 Mandarin, Green Sandpiper, 5 Lapwing, 27 Mallard, Common Sandpiper, 27 Cormorant, 8 Grey Heron.

Great White Egret still present. 104 Great Crested Grebes, 19 Black-headed Gull, 3 Swallows, 9 Grey Heron, 10 Cormorant, 4 Lapwing, Common Tern, 6 Mallard, Moorhen and 2 Mandarin ducks = mid morning.
