Ringing this morning proved fruitful with a mixed bag of passerines passing through Whillet’s including Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Whitethroat, Sedge and Grasshopper Warbler. Other species of note included Long-tailed Tit and juvenile Bullfinch. All through the morning it was brilliant to hear and see 2 Raven. I suspected one of them was a juvenile. There were a number of hirundine passing through – Swallow, House and Sand Martin. The first two being the majority of birds. A Yellow Wagtail flew over early.

Dam End:- 1 juv Yellow Wagtail on Dam, 7 Grey Wagtails, 14 Pied Wagtails, 1 Wheatear in Horse Paddock, 1 Sedge Warbler behind Dam, 1 Little Grebe and 3 Tufted Ducks in Lagoon, 20 Lapwings, 3 Common Sandpiper, 1 Little Egret, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Kingfisher, 12 Sand Martin, 100 House Martin, 2 Stock Dove, 107 Greylag, 5 Blackcap, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Mandarin.
West End:- 5 Teal, 11 Grey Heron.
Whillet’s:- 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Hobby, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 4 Buzzards, 2 Ravens, 1 Bullfinch, 50 House Martins, 30 Swallows.

Dam End:- 1 Arctic Tern (juv), 1 Common Sandpiper, 23 Lapwing, 38 Canada Geese, 125 House Martins, 100 Swallows, 4 Pied Wagtails, 9 Chiffchaffs, 17 Rooks, 2 Ravens, 2 Jays, 2 Blackcap, 23 Goldfinch, 1 Coal Tit.
West End:- 2 Common Sandpiper.
Whillet’s:- 1 Whinchat, 1f House Sparrow by meadow pond, 5 Greenfinch, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 11 flyover Mistle Thursh, 4 Chiffchaffs, 5 Whitethroats, 5 Blackcaps, Sparrowhawk, 2 Stock Doves, 2 Buzzard, 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Bullfinch, 2 Grey Wagtails, 3 Teal at Reed Bed.
1 Common Darter, 1 Migrant Hawker, 1 White-legged Damselfly, 3 Grass Snakes.

Dam End:- 1 juv Black Tern, 1 juv Arctic Tern, 1 Juv Common Tern, 4 Common Sandpipers, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Little Egret, 1 Wheatear, 2 flyover Yellow Wagtails, 2 Swifts, 15 Sand Martins, 250 House Martins.

Dam End:- 1 Whinchat in paddock, 2 Ravens, 30+ Sand Martins, 2 Marsh Tit, 2 Willow Warblers, 3 Common Sandpiper.
West End:- 1 Green Sandpiper.

West End:- 140 Greylag, 31 Canada Geese including a white-faced hybrid, 1 Mandarin Duck, 3 Teal, 1 Buzzard, 1 Moorhen, 23 Lapwing, 2 Green Sandpiper, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull, Stock Dove heard, 1 Sand Martin, 5 Swallow, 5 House Martin.

Dam End:- 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Little Egret, 2 juv Common Terns.
Whillet’s:- 2 Greenfinch, 1 Blackcap, 1 Whitethroat, 15 House Martins, 20 Swallow. Also11 Small Coppers.

Dam End:- 10+ Common Terns (adults and juveniles), 1 Arctic Tern (juvenile), 4 Swifts, 20 Sand Martins, 50 House Martins, 30 Swallow, 1 Little Egret. 1 Shag (juvenile).

Black Tern, 2nd Summer male Marsh Harrier early morning.

Dam End:- 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Little Egret, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
South Bank:- 2 Lapwings.
West End:- 2 Coots, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher.
Whillet’s:- 1 Hobby, 1 Kestrel, 60 Swallows, 60 Goldfinch, 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Yellowhammer, 2 Blackcap, 5 Chiffchaffs, 5 Whitethroats, 2 Bullfinch, 1 Brown Argus.
