    Dam End:- Greenshank flew over, Redshank and Dunlin on dam, couple of Common Gulls and juv Goshawk on North Bank.

    Dam:- 2 Common Sandpiper.
    Whillet’s:- 3 Whitethroats, 2 Kingfisher, 2 Bullfinch, Buzzard carrying Grass Snake.
    Dragonflies: 3 Brown Hawker, 1 Southern Hawker, 6 Migrant Hawkers, 1 Emperor, 1f Black-tailed Skimmer, 6 Common Darter, 3 Blue Tail Damselfly, 2 White-legged Damselfly, 1 Banded & 1 Beautiful Demoiselle.
    Butterflies: 10 Small Skipper, 5 Large Skipper, 1 small White, 8 Green-veined White, 8 Small Copper, 5 Common Blue, 1 Holly Blue, 1 Red Admiral, 3 Peacock, 5 Comma, 1 Speckled Wood, 46 Gatekeeper, 40 Meadow Brown, 4 Ringlet, 1 Silver Y Moth. 1 fox.

    Ringing in Whillet’s saw a slow movement of birds with not many juveniles around. Birds ringed included: male Reed Bunting, Whitethroats, Blackcap and Chiffchaff.
    Other sightings included: Turtle Dove and Raven.

    Dam End:- 1 Oystercatcher flying around calling, 1 Common Sandpiper, 5 Grey Wagtails, 5 Pied Wagtails, 3 Mute Swans, 8 Gadwall, 8 Common Terns, 1 Little Egret, 4 Swift, 2 Blackcap, 6 Chiffchaffs, 2 Whitethroat, 25 Goldfinch, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Mandarin.

    Honey Buzzard 01-08-21

    West End:-  1 Honey Buzzard around mid-day being mobbed by Common Terns as it flew over the reservoir.
    Also:- 4 Common Tern + 1 young chick on new raft, 30 Great Crested Grebe, 7 Mandarin, 1 Little Egret, 5 Grey Heron, 1 Stock Dove. Photo David Williams.

    Dam End:-  15 Great Crested Grebe, 7 Cormorant, 5 Grey Heron, 3 Mute Swan, 4 Greylag, 32 Canada Geese, 20 domestic white feral Geese, 2+8 juv Egyptian Geese, 2 Mandarin, 15 Mallard, 2 Buzzard, 2 Common Sandpiper, 140 Black-headed Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Herring Gull, 17 Swift, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Sand Martin, 1 Swallow, 7 House Martin, 5 Grey Wagtail, 3 Pied Wagtail, 1 Wren, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Chiffchaff, 6 Blue Tit, 2 Great Tit, 3 Jay, 4 Raven, 3 Starling, 2 Goldfinch. Also Purple Emperor butterfly at WWSC Car Park,
    West End:-  30 Great Crested Grebe, 17 Cormorant, 8 Grey Heron, 12 Mandarin, 7 Mallard, 13 + 1 young Common Tern, 2 Red Kite, 2 Buzzard, 1 Stock Dove, 2 Sand Martin. Also Purple Hairstreak butterfly at Car Park.
    Whillet’s:-  1 Kingfisher, 2 Reed Warbler, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Blackcap heard, 1 Nuthatch heard, 2 Bullfinch, 1 Reed Bunting. Also – 9 Grass Snakes, 1 Slow Worm, 5 Field Vole.  Dragonflies: 1 Emperor, 1 Southern Hawker, 1 Brown Hawker, 3 Common Darter,  Damselflies: 1 Red-eyed, 1 White-legged, 5+ Azure.

    Dam End:- 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher, 2 adult + 8 gosling Egyptian Geese, 2 Common Terns, 2 Swift, 9 Sand Martin, 20 House Martin, 4 Swallow, 2 Tufted Duck on Lagoon.
    Butterflies:- 1 Clouded Yellow, 1 Painted Lady, 1 Peacock, 1 Comma, 8 Red Admiral, 1 Small Heath, 1 Silver Washed Fritillary, 1 Marble White.
    Dragonflies:-5 Black-tailed Skimmers, 2 Broad-bodied Chaser, 20 Common Darters, 3 Emperors, 3 Brown Hawkers, 2 Red-eyed Damselfly, 5 Banded Demoiselles.
