West End:- 31 x Mandarin Duck, 11 x Mallard, 1 x Stock Dove, 3 x Common Woodpigeon, 9 x Black-headed Gull, 1 x Little Grebe, 6 x Great Crested Grebe, 12 x Great Cormorant, 1 x Grey Heron, 1 x Coal Tit, 2 x Marsh Tit, 2 x Eurasian Blue Tit, 1 x Great Tit, 12 x Barn Swallow, 3 x Common Chiffchaff, 1 x European Robin

Dam End:- 1 x Common Sandpiper, and ca50 house martins.

WeirWood mid-late morning. At the west end Little Egret, ca20 Barn Swallows, 3 Sand Martins and a House Martin. 2 Snipe were on Pintail bank and a Great and Lesser Black-backed Gull, both ad’s. At the dam more hirundines mostly Barn Swallows but also Sand and House Martins too. Probably 100+ birds involved. On the north bank a Common Sandpiper, also Hobby and a rather bedraggled male Sparrowhawk flew in and landed on the dam fence. Among the 30 or so gulls was an ad’ Common Gull plus 2 beautiful 2nd year Mediterranean Gulls. A surprise was the 5 Crossbills that flew over the c/pk just as I was leaving. Sadly they didn’t land.

West end :- 4 Lapwing now flown, 1 Great Black Backed Gull, 1 Lesser Black Backed Gull, 10 Mandarins, small parties of House and Sand Martins following heavy rain, 2 Kingfishers, 1 Swift, 1 Red Kite, 1 Common Sandpiper.

Dam end, dodging the rain :-1 Hobby, 1 Common Sandpiper, 23 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Great Black Backed Gull, 2 Jays with acorns, Kingfisher, Marsh Tit, Bullfinch.

Dam End :- 39 Great crested grebes, 1 Common Sandpiper, 6 Swallow, 7 Pied Wags, 1 Great black backed gull.

West End:- 3 x Egyptian Goose, 4 x Mandarin Duck, 13 x Mallard, 2 x Stock Dove, 4 x Common Woodpigeon, 1 x Common Sandpiper, 21 x Black-headed Gull, 1 x Great Black-backed Gull, 1 x Lesser Black-backed Gull, 4 x Great Crested Grebe, 1 x Great Cormorant, 3 x Grey Heron, 1 x Common Kingfisher, 2 x Eurasian Jackdaw, 3 x Rook, 2 x Carrion Crow, 2 x Marsh Tit, 6 x Eurasian Blue Tit, 2 x Barn Swallow, 5 x Common Chiffchaff, 2 x Eurasian Blackcap, 1 x Eurasian Treecreeper, 2 x Eurasian Wren, 3 x European Robin

All Reservoir: 42 GC Grebe, 8 Cormorant, 10 Grey Heron, 50 Mallard, 2 C Buzzard, 2 Moorhen,  9 Swallow, 21 House Martin, 6 Chiffchaff, 4 Crow, some Starling migration noted,  

Dam End: 19 Canada Geese, 2 Canada/Greylag hybrid Geese, 2 White Domestic Geese, 1 Mandarin, 4 Common Sandpiper, 119 BH Gull, 2 LBB & GBB Gulls, 3 Herring Gull, 2 flyover Collared Dove, 2 Kingfisher, 2 GS Woodpecker, 2 Grey Wagtail, 1 Pied Wagtail, 3 flyover Greenfinch.

West End: 1 Little Grebe,1 Teal, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Coot, 4 Green & 2 more Common Sandpipers, 1 Stock Dove.

Whillet’s:  Gren Woodpecker & Bullfinch heard.

Butterfly transect count: 1 Red Admiral, 3 Speckled Wood, 2 Comma, 5 Peacock, 1 Small White, 2 Large White, 7 Common Blue, 13 Small Copper, 11 GV White, 1 Holly Blue, 1 Brown Hairstreak.  Also 2 Brown Chinamark moths & 2 Rush Veneer moths.

Mammals: 1 Fallow Deer, 3 Field Voles.
