WeirWood yet again early on. At the breezy dam still 2 Common Sands, and the 2 Kingfishers, probably juv’s were about. The usual Black-headed Gulls were joined by 2 ad’ Lesser Black-backed Gulls. On top of the dam a juv’ Wheatear was nice to see but there was little else of note here. In the c/pk 2 Goldcrests and a nice bright Willow Warbler. At the west end around 20 Sand Martins and a few more Barn Swallows plus a single Lapwing, a few Mandarin and a Teal.

WeirWood from 6:30 on a still, calm but overcast morning. On the dam 2 Common Sands and 2 Dunlins briefly also Sky Lark, ad’ Common Gull and 2 rather boisterous Kingfishers. A Common Tern was present among 132 Black-headed Gulls. Elsewhere around the area inc’ Sedge Warbler below the dam where a juv’ Whinchat was highlight on the fence before diving in to the bushes. 3 Grey Wagtails were in the overflow plus another Common Sand. Of interest 3 Crossbills also flew over here heading west. A very enjoyable morning so far, much better than the last few days. I then made my way to the west end. Here 3 Lapwings and 2 ad’ Lesser Black-backed Gulls plus Marsh Tit, several Mandarins and around 25 Barn Swallows. At Whillett’s Greenfinch again plus Reed Warbler and 2 Reed Buntings.
