    West End:- 1 Common Gull on tern raft.

    I put up a couple of feeders at the hide Car Park today, which will be the beginning of our winter bird feeding.
    West End:-  164 Greylag were along Pintail Bank and 74 Black-headed Gulls around the rafts. A few Great Crested Grebe, Cormorants & Mallards.  2 Kingfishers were seen by others.
    Whillet’s Meadows:- A Water Rail is still in the reed-bed; but more heard than seen. 1f Stonechat, Jay, Treecreeper, Nuthatch, 2 Long-tailed Tit, Song Thrush, Buzzard, plus a Fallow Deer. The meadows are now becoming flooded, Pairs of Common Darter dragonflies are joined and laying eggs in the many wet areas.

    Dam End:- 2 Little Grebes on Southern Water Lagoon, 32 Siskins in Alders, 120 Redwings around and 100 Goldfinch, 18 Meadow Pipits on Dam with 2 Pied Wagtails while a Grey Wagtail flew over calling, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Marsh Tit, 1 Coal Tit, 1 Kestrel, 2 Song Thrush, 2 Fieldfares.
    West End:- 1 Meadow Pipit, 102 Redwings and 18 Chaffinch flew west.

    West End:- 1 1st winter Mediterranean Gull among 70 Black-headed Gulls, 3 Fieldfares, 6 Redwings and 6 Redwings flew over, 24 Long-tailed Tits made their way through the Car Park.

    Whillet’s Meadows:- Water Rail heard from reed-bed, 1m+1f Stonechat in second meadow, 3 Buzzards circling overhead.
    Whillet’s Meadow Pond:-  2 Southern Hawker dragonfly, 2 + a pair of Common Darter joined and egg laying, Red Admiral Butterfly.
    Under Tins:- Wood mouse and 3 Field Vole.

    West End:- 2 Buzzard, 1f Sparrowhawk, 2m Mandarin, 8 Redwing, 2 Kingfisher.

    Dam End:- 3 Gadwall, 1 Tufted Duck, 2 Egyptian Geese.

    Whillet’s:- 7 Spoonbill flew high west at 13:15, juvenile female Goshawk seen on three occasions causing mass panic with the pigeons, Water Rail heard squealing twice,1f+1m Sparrowhawk, Buzzard, 2 Stonechat, 2 Chiffchaff, 4 Meadow Pipit, 1 Marsh Tit, 4 Mistle Thrush, 2 Song Thrush, 2 Jay, 1 Treecreeper, 4 Bullfinch, 8 Greenfinch, 1 Goldcrest, 51 Siskin, 72 Goldfinch, 4 Stock Dove, 5 Redwing, 3 Fieldfare, 1 Water Shrew, 1 Noctule Bat, 2 Red Admirals.
    Dam End:- 2,604 Woodpigeon, 105 Chaffinch and 410 Starlings all flew west. 1 Kestrel, 2 Goldcrest, 2 Greenfinch, 16 Meadow Pipits, 20 Redwings, 4 Siskin, 54 Goldfinch, 3 Pied Wagtail.
    Lagoon:- 1 Little Grebe, 5 Moorhen.

    (10:26-11:52) Fields at West End:- 34 Pheasants, 5 Carrion Crow, 4 Magpie, 2 Woodpigeon, 1 Pied Wagtail.
    Car Park:- 276 Greylag Geese, 4 Canada Geese, 11 Mallard, 4 Mandarin 2m 2f, 7 Great Crested Grebe, 10 Cormorant, 1 Buzzard, 4 Pheasants, 2 Common Sandpiper on raft, 1 Swallow, 1 Robin, Numerous Carrion Crow.

    Whillet’s:- Water Rail heard at reed-bed several times during the day by Work Party.
    West End:-   117 Greylag Geese, 40 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, a few Mallard and Great Crested Grebes.
